The international premiere of our directing graduate and doctoral student Jan Bujnowski’s film DANCING IN THE CORNER will take place at the 63rd SEMAINE DE LA CRITIQUE of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival

Jan Bujnowski's latest film, DANCING IN THE CORNER, made thanks to a grant from the Doctoral School of the Polish National Film School in Łódź and produced by INDEKS Film Studio, entered the Semaine de la Critique Short Film Competition.

The Semaine de la Critique section, or Film Critics Week, was created in 1962 by the French Union of Film Critics. This prestigious section of the Cannes festival focuses on discovering young talented artists. Its programme invites the first and second films of young, promising filmmakers. Among the directors who have been noticed and appreciated as part of the Semaine de la Critique section are such outstanding and recognized directors as, among others, Alejandro González Iñarritu, Ken Loach, François Ozon and Wong Kar Wai.

This year, the Lodz Film School is represented at the Semaine de la Critique once again.

DANCING IN THE CORNER directed by Jan Bujnowski is a short film made at the Doctoral School functioning at the Lodz Film School. This is also another noteworthy and outstanding success in terms of artistic quality of Jan Bujnowski, a graduate of the Film and Television Directing Department, the creator of the award-winning film THE DEVIL (feature diploma).
