Ewa Braun, an Oscar winning art director, interior designer and a Lodz Film School lecturer, receives the Gold Medal "Gloria Artis".
Ewa Braun graduated from the Warsaw University, where she studied art history. At first she worked at the Warsaw Documentary Film Studio. Since 1970 she has worked on films and television productions as an art director, interior and costume designer.
She worked with such film directors as Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Andrzej Wajda, Wojciech Jerzy Has, and others, on the following films: "The Illumination" (1972), "Jealousy and Medicine" (1973), "Separate Tables"(1975), "Camouflage" (1976), "The Case of Gorgonowa" (1977), "Spiral" (1978), a series "Queen Bona" (1980-81), "Uninteresting Story" (1982), "Write and Fight" (1984), "Separate Tables" (1895), "Europe, Europe" (1990), "Holy Week" (1995).
She is an Oscar winner for art direction for Steven Spielberg’s „Schindler’s List”.
The ceremony of granting the Golden Medal Gloria Artis to Ewa Braun took place on 5th November, 2014, during a private dinner with film friends. The medal was handed by the vice Minister of Culture Mr Andrzej Wyrobiec.
