On 7 October, the Lodz Film School will officially celebrate the beginning of the new academic year. As an important part of the ceremony a famous actor Janusz Gajos will receive Doctor Honoris Causa
A special school Senate meeting on the occasion of the new academic year will start on 7 October at 12 o’clock at the TV Studio. The Rector Prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek’s speech and new students’ matriculation will be followed by a ceremony of granting the Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Janusz Gajos, an excellent film and theatre actor, our school graduate and former lecturer who in his over 50-year-long career has played over three hundred roles.
Janusz Gajos is the first actor who will receive the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Lodz Film School. So far the honorary degree has been granted to: Jerzy Toeplitz, Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polański, Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Wojciech Jerzy Has, Vittorio Storaro, Jerzy Mierzejewski, Zbigniew Rybczyński, Tadeusz Różewicz, Martin Scorsese and Michael Haneke.
After the ceremony Janusz Gajos will have a meeting with our acting students.
