On 27 April, 2017, our lecturer Prof. Krzysztof Hejke received the Silver Medal of Merit to Polish Culture - Gloria Artis, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

During the 3rd Culture Heritage Foundation Gala Krzysztof Hejke was one of the outstanding representatives of the world of art and culture who received the medals from the State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Jarosław Sellin.

Prof. Krzysztof Hejke, the graduate of the Lodz Film School and Prague Photography Institute, is a photographer and a cinematographer. He teaches at the Film Direction Dept. of the Lodz Film School. His artistic work has been presented at over 75 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He is the author of a number of photographic albums such as "Polska Romantyczna" (7 awards in the most beautiful books competitions), "Polska Duch Ziemi" (the biggest photographic album on Polish folklore), "Katedra Lwowska obrządku łacińskiego", "Tam gdzie lwowskie śpią Orlęta", "Rossa od świtu do zmierzchu", "Cmentarz Łyczakowski w fotografii Krzysztofa Hejke". He takes part in mounting climbing expeditions to the world’s highest peaks. For the past years he has been travelling across the remote Eastern ex-territories of Poland, tracing and preserving the remains of Polish culture and history.
