30th October – a rare opportunity to see in the school cinema Aleksander Ford’s film "Mir kumen on" from 1936 after digital restoration.

The restored film „Mir kumen on”, which will be shown in its almost complete version in Lodz for the first time, has been already screened in France and the US.

„Mir kumen on” presents every day life in the Włodzimierz Medem Sanatorium in Miedzeszyn near Warsaw, where modern healing and upbringing methods were used. In the years 1926–1939 the sanatorium accommodated 10 thousand Jewish children from poor working class background susceptible to developing tuberculosis. In 1942, its staff and all the inmates were taken to the German concentration camp in Treblinka.

The initiative to have the film digitally restored and available to world viewers came from Serge Bromberg from Lobster Films in France and Léa Minczeles which resulted in a mutual project of the Polish National Film Archive, The Museum of Modern Art, Deutsche Kinemathek and Lobster Films.

The film screening at the school will be introduced by Monika Talarczyk-Gubała from PWSFTviT with the participation of a special guest, Anna Szczepańska from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.
