The year 2018 marks the one hundredth anniversary of Ingmar Bergman. To celebrate this Lodz Film School Cinema together with the curator prof. Tadeusz Szczepański would like to invite you to a retrospective consisting of five films by the outstanding Swedish director. The retrospective will be a perfect opportunity to familiarise oneself with selected works of the creator, closer look at the icon of international cinema and to give thought to the key points which help us to understand his diverse creativity.

Each screening will be preceded by the discourse explaining the subject of the film. During the inauguration of the screening on 21st May, we also invite you to the lecture by Tadeusz Szczepański, an author of the publication "Bergman's Mirror".

Tadeusz Szczepański – art historian, critic, translator, film expert, professor at the Film School in Lodz, especially recognised for his works on the subject of European cinema, including Ingmar Bergman, Scandinavian cinema and Russian cinema. His best known book "Bergman's Mirror" widely considered the best publication in Polish language related to the works of Swedish master – received Bolesław Michałek’s award for best film book of 1999.
