Piotr Szulkin, who graduated from the Lodz Film School, was a film director, screenwriter, painter and one of the most original artists in the Polish cinema.

Among his films there are: "Golem", „Wojna światów – następne stulecie”, „O-bi, o-ba. Koniec cywilizacji”, „Ga, ga. Chwała bohaterom”, „Ubu król”. As a film-maker he creatively used the poetics of science fiction. He was a master of grotesque and absurd. His auteur films were full of reflections on mankind, society, evil and human stupidity.

His death is a great loss to the school.
