See a list of nominees for The Munk Award for Best Direction and Best Cinematography. Competition film screenings from 28 January at the School Cinema.
The application period for the Andrzej Munk Competition for debuting directors and cinematographers in the full-length feature film category is over and we have the results. The Munk Competition organized by the Lodz Film School since 1965 is one of the oldest film contests in Poland. The competition winners, among others are: Jerzy Skolimowski, Krzysztof Kieślowski, and Andrzej Żuławski.
This year, the following seventeen films entered the Munk Competition and received nominations:

The competition film screenings at the school cinema start on 28 January. Some of them will be followed by meetings with the film-makers. The competition program will be on www.konkursmunka.pl. Access to all film screenings is free. Andrzej Munk studied cinematography and direction at the Lodz Film School. From 1957 to his tragic death in 1961, he was a lecturer at the Film School in Lodz. Andrzej Munk's filmography is very short and at the same time unusually distinct. He started his film career in documentary films whose artistic values were appreciated by film critics. As a director of feature films, he was one of the most original artists of the Polish School of Film. At the age of 40, his life ended in a car accident. Since 1965, the Lodz Film School has organized a film competition which grants awards named after Andrzej Munk.
