An accompanying event for the 37th Drama Schools’ Festival. Workshop and promotion of the anthology, "Poland is a Myth. New Dramas".

DRAMA IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

4-6 May Closed workshop, working on scenes.

For the twelfth time, the Film and Television Directing Department and the Acting Department of the Film School in Łódź in cooperation with the Drama and Theatre Agency (ADIT) have organized the workshop, DRAMA IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, the aim of which is to facilitate meeting conditions for young theatre artists (playwrights, directors, actors) and to enable them to exchange their experiences while working together on a dramatic text adaptation for the stage on the basis of partner creative work. The formula of the workshop gives the opportunity to initiate work on the creation of a theatre spectacle from the moment of choosing a text, through a creative discussion regarding form, to the concept of a stage performance. The starting point is the text of the new play of a contemporary Polish author, who is ready to work on its final shape in a polemic with the director and actors and students of the Film School in Łódź. The results of the work of individual groups will be presented to the public in the form of a performative reading at the 37th Drama Schools’Festival.

Promotion of the anthology "Poland is a Myth. New Dramas" Publisher: Drama and Theatre Agency and Film School in Lodz.
Host: Jacek Wakar

The Anthology, "Poland is a Myth. New Dramas" is the aftermath of the latest edition of the Gdynia Drama Prize, but it goes beyond the framework of a pure documentation. We will find here the play, Wracaj by last year's winner, Przemysław Pilarski, finalists, Metro Afganistan by Łukasz Pawłowski and Wierna wataha by Paweł Wolak and Katarzyna Dworak (Duo P&K), as well as a semi-finalist Język obcy by Maria Wojtyszko, a permanent participant of the Gdynia competition. The contents is complemented by other semi-finalists - # darkness by Tomasz Kaczorowski and a detailed theory of life and dying by Michał Zdunik […]The six plays in this anthology are an invitation to talk about the new Polish dramaturgy. It is impossible to summarize them in one sentence, because they are so different. They may be connected by the conviction that indeed - Poland is a myth. Or rather, many myths that sometimes want to connect with each other, whilst sometimes they are quite separate. However, it is always worth trying to approach them - to get to know their secrets. Jacek Wakar. Is Polska a myth?
