Our publishing house has published the book "Art director - co-creator of film reality" by Prof. Ewa Braun.

The publication is the first study of this type, combining various aspects of an art director’s work: showing his role in the process of creating a film work, areas of activity, fields of cooperation and sources of inspiration that initiate the creative process.

Describing the secrets of an art director’s work, the author took on the film "Nieciekawa historia" (An Uninteresting Story) directed by Wojciech Jerzy Has. The work gives us a multi-layered look at the art director’s work, and the fact that almost all scenes were shot in the film studio makes his actions more noticeable. The publication also includes references to other well-known and valued film productions.
The book consists of two parts. Each of them, divided into several chapters, shedding light on the art director’s work from a different perspective. The first part shows the assumptions and tasks facing the art director; the second focuses more on the practicalities of the profession.
