Jubilee, 10th edition of the Hommage à Kieślowski Film Festival, organized in the year of his 80th birthday and the 25th anniversary of his death. Sokołowsko, June, 27- August,25, 2021.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the premiere of "The Double Life of Veronique".

The festival will show the most important films from the rich filmography of its Patron, but an important element of its jubilee edition will also be FILM CONTEXTS AND INSPIRATIONS – that is works that thematically and ideologically enter into a dialogue with the Polish master's films. The festival also offers a selection of KRZYSZTOF KIEŚLOWSKI'S FAVOURITE FILMS as well as screenings within the KIEŚLOWSKI’S APPRENTICES section. The screenings will be complemented by meetings with guests - the director's associates and filmmakers inspired by his films. The festival weekends will be accompanied by recitals and shows that will be announced soon by the organizers.

It all begins on Krzysztof Kieślowski's birthday, June 27 (Sunday) at the historic Zdrowie film theatre in Sokołowsko. Throughout the day, there will be screenings of films devoted to the director and his work. The grand festival day will end with Zbigniew Zamachowski's recital.

The programme of the screenings has been arranged in such a way so that the short films can enter into a creative dialogue with the full-length films in order to show the continuity of certain topics and thoughts in Kieślowski's output. The following films will be shown on the big screen: "Blind Chance", "Camera Buff", "The Double Life of Veronique", "The Calm", "A Short Film About Love", "No End", "Three Colours. White ”and“ Three colours. Blue". The accompanying sections will include such titles as "La strada" by Fellini, "Musicians" by Karabasz "," Intimate Lighting "by Passer," A Dog’s Life " by Chaplin," Amelia " by Jean Pierre Jeunet, as well as "Amateurs "by Iwona Siekierzyńska and "Nothing is lost" by Kalina Alabrudzińska.

Celebrating Kieślowski's 80th birthday will take on a unique form in Sokołowsko - the festival will be held almost throughout the entire summer holiday, mainly outdoors, but also in a cinema room. The organizers want the event to be as accessible and safe as possible for residents and visitors, hence the choice of the weekend formula.

On Fridays, the shows will be organized in the open air only, always from 21:15 in the park at the Dr Brehmer Sanatorium, 2, Różana Street. Admission to all of them is free.

On Saturdays, in day time the screenings will take at the cinema, and in the evening - outdoors. Tickets for cinema screenings cost: PLN 15 (reduced) and PLN 20 (regular). In the event of rain, outdoor screenings will be moved to the cinema hall.
