Marta Ruszkiewicz, a fourth year student of acting, is preparing her monodrama "The City" based on Sylvia Plath's novel "The Bell Jar” . The premiere on 28 March.

"The City" is a story about Esther Greenwood, a small town girl, who wins a teenage fashion magazine competition. The prize is an internship at the magazine’s publishing house and a stay in New York.
- Sylvia Plath’s novel is very close to me. Just like its character I have moved homes trying to adapt to a new life. - says Marta Ruszkiewicz, who as a teenager lived in the UK and then decided to move to Poland to study acting. – Every time I moved places my world would  be turned upside down.
The students behind the monodrama hope to attract to it Erasmus students currently studying in Lodz. – These young people are English speakers which is handy cause this time I perform in English. I am a native English speaker that is why I feel more relaxed  acting in English.– says the young actress.

Apart from Marta Ruszkieiwcz, the acting student, other Lodz Film School students have contributed to staging the  monodrama.  A screenwriting student Izabela Aleksandrowicz has been in charge of the monodrama script and direction, and the performance has been produced by the production students  Adrian Kujda and Karina Brdak. Yann Seweryn, a cinematography student, has been in charge of producing the monodrama trailer. The monodrama premiere already next Friday, 28th March.
