A historic old town and modern technologies? The combination resulted in a summer school devoted to immersion technologies. The Summer School ran from 9, July to 16, July in Malta.
Students of cinematography, photography, animation and production spent a week at the University of Malta in July. A visit to the Faculty of Digital Art was an opportunity to participate in VR film, AR augmented reality and virtual set design classes. The classes were conducted by lecturers participating in the Erasmus + project from the University of Malta, the University of Athens, the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Film School in Łódź.
Our students who participated in the summer school were: Weronika Althamer (animated film and special effects), Natalia Pniczka (cinematography), Mateusz Hernik (cinematography), Maciej Bernaś (photography), Jan Grabowski (organization of film and television production).
Our school lecturers, Dr. Filip Gabriel Pudło from the Department of Cinematography and TV Production, Dr. Paweł Fabjański (collaborating with the Dept.) and Dr. Bartłomiej Talaga jointly presented the Lodz Film School and then conducted classes in the TV studio.
At the end of the summer school, our lecturers together with Maltese artists put on an audiovisual performance in the interiors of Spazju Kreattiv situated in the centre of Valletta.
