72 cinema screenings, 40 feature films and 20 pre-premieres - this year's Camera Action Festival programme looks really promising. We invite you to the Lodz Film School from 13 to 16, October.

This year’s motto of the Camera Action Festival is TOGETHER IN FILM. It is a call, but also a postulate that has been following the Camera Action Festival for thirteen years. Film is a collective creation, not only in the context of production but also in the context of reception. It is a shared experience.

Among the 20 events as part of the Camera Action Festival and the Education Action project, you will be able to participate in workshops, case studies and discussions in which 60 guests will take part including the Golden Lions winner Agnieszka Smoczyńska, Oscar winner Ewa Puszczyńska, screenwriter and film critic Michał Oleszczyk and ex-YouTuber Martin Stankiewicz.

For the first time, the programme features a record number (20!) of pre-premiere screenings, including Lukas Dhont's "Close" which was awarded the Palme d'Or in Cannes, the winner of the Berlinale Golden Bear, "Alcarràs" by Carla Simon, the undisputed winner of the Venice IFF "Happening" directed by Audrey Diwan and "The Silent Twins" by Agnieszka Smoczyńska, the film which after its premiere in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section in Cannes won the Golden Lions Award at the recent Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

This year, exciting discussions are planned for the participants:

about film marketing - "Slippers on the eyes" with Wacław Mikłaszewski, the creator of the success of the KUBOT brand reanimation, Mateusz Góra, a crowd in the cinema hall specialist, Paulina Jaroszewicz, arthouse cinema promotion expert and Katarzyna Czajka-Kominarczuk - a film critic who has been following the activities of the film industry for years;

with trend forecasters among filmmakers, i.e. those who forecast, predict themes, genres or forms and buy what the audience will like. "Trends in content. How to hit the tastes of the audience" - among experts Katarzyna Śliwińska-Kłosowicz, TVN Warner Bros. Discovery showrunner, Michał Broniszewski, head of distribution for Galapagos Films, film critic Artur Zaborski and ex-YouTuber with 1.3 million subscribers - Martin Stankiewicz.

On Sunday (October 16) we will talk about why qualitative film criticism is needed by viewers, producers, distributors, but also directors, and how in-depth film criticism corresponds to the limitations of the editorial office and the needs of the readers. The discussion will be attended by Ewa Puszczyńska - producer, Anna Tatarska - film critic, Mateusz Demski - film critic, Marcin Radomski - film critic and creator of the KINOrozmowa channel.

- In the word TOGETHER there is everything we need today - a sense of community, closeness, support, and the will to understand. I invite you to participate in the CAMERA ACTION Festival at the Lodz Film School where a place in the cinema hall will be available for everyone: creators and viewers, filmmakers, film experts, critics, professionals and amateurs. Let's be TOGETHER IN FILM, regardless of divisions, views, the surrounding reality, everything. On our common principles. A fragment of the introduction to the festival catalogue by the Rector, Milenia Fiedler.

The Lodz Film School is a partner of the festival.
