Students of our School started working on mini-series projects. In October, representatives of streaming platforms will find out about them. And then - perhaps you, the viewers?

A long-term programme to develop ideas for a mini-series (4-6 episodes) started on a weekend in March and will run until October. This is possible thanks to cooperation between the Lodz Film School and Netflix which began last year.

The programme develops and tests ideas for series, but also creative relationships. Twelve students of directing, screenwriting and film production are taking part in it. During the first meeting, four groups of three were formed, which will work in director-screenwriter-producer teams. Each group will develop one idea for a series, which will be presented to representatives of streaming platforms in October. There is a chance for creative student work to turn into the production of a series under a well-known production flag.

Projects are developed under the supervision of screenwriting lecturers: Kacper Wysocki and Bartosz Staszczyszyn, as well as Anna Pachnicka, Dean and lecturer of the Film Art Organization Dept.; Marcin Malatyński, Head International Relations and our school lecturer; Leszek Dawid, Vice-Dean and lecturer at the Film and Television Directing Dept., and Andrzej Mellin, Head of Screenwriting at the Film and Television Directing Dept. Once a month, workshops for creative teams with the participation of Netflix representatives will be held.

The main assumption of the long-term cooperation between the Lodz Film School and Netflix is the creative development of a new generation of filmmakers from Poland. Partners share common goals - discovering and supporting young talents, as well as enabling them to improve the practical professional competences necessary to start a career in the changing film market.

Netflix is one of the world's largest entertainment streaming services with 222 million paying subscribers in over 190 countries. It provides many genres of movies, series, shows and mobile games in different languages.
