Our guest David Puttnam shared his professional experience with us and gave us valuable tips. The film producer met with students for whom he conducted a master class.
He is one of the greatest film producers having produced films including "Chariots of Fire" (dir. Hugh Hudson, 1981), "Midnight Express" (dir. Alan Parker, 1978), "The Killing Fields" (dir. Roland Joffé, 1984), or "The Mission" (dir. Roland Joffé, 1986 ) won 10 Oscars (including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music) and received 17 nominations for this award. In the 1980s, Puttnam was the head of Columbia Pictures.
David Puttnam was welcomed at Targowa by Rector of the Film School, Milenia Fiedler and the Head of International Relations, Marcin Malatyński.
The meeting with students was divided into two parts. In the first one, the producer talked about the life experiences which shaped his artistic and professional path. In the second part, David Puttnam conducted a master class and showed how important music is in films.
It is worth remembering that the films produced by Puttnam - "Chariots of Fire" and "Midnight Express" - received Oscars, among others, for Best Music.
