The program of the largest animated film festival in Poland includes events on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of our School. We invite you to a joint, animated celebration!
The programme of the 16th edition of the International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR includes masterclasses with our excellent graduates and animation lecturers - Marcin Podolec, Natalia Spychała and Anna Błaszczyk, and the participation of our representation in the industry event ANIMATOR PRO. The ANIMATOR Festival and our Animation faculty invite you to the events.
MASTERCLASS WITH MARCIN PODOLEC: AN ANIMATED DOCUMENTARY

During the ANIMATED DOCUMENTARY masterclass you will find out whether an animated documentary is a hit of several seasons or a regular on cinema screens? What does animation offer to the documentary, and what does the documentary offer to animation? And how to go about directing this hybrid form? These and other questions will be answered by Marcin Podolec, the author of the animadocs "Document", "Olbrzym" and "Colaholic".
MARCIN PODOLEC - born in 1991 in Jarosław, creator of cartoon books and animated films; graduate and lecturer at the Lodz Film School. Founder of the Yellow Tapir Films animation studio. He presented his films at festivals in Clermont-Ferrand, Leipzig, Athens, Sao Paulo and Poitiers, among others. He made his debut in comics in 2010 and has since published over a dozen albums, including the award-winning "Czasem" (screenplay by Grzegorz Janusz) and comics based on facts: "Morze po kolana" (screenplay by Marcin Kołodziejczyk), "Dym. Wywiad graficzny z Pablopavo” (screenplay by Marcin Flint), "Fugazi Music Club". The latter title was released in several countries, opening the path for the creator to foreign markets. Marcin Podolec's most extensive project is a post-apocalyptic series for children entitled "Bajka na końcu świata". "Fairy Tale at the End of the World".
MASTERCLASS WITH NATALIA SPYCHAŁA: STOP MOTION. EXPERIMENTAL FILM AND MOTION DESIGN

Is stop motion just an artistic niche? How does combining stop-motion and digital techniques affect the animation production process? Can experimental stop motion animation be useful in work for a commercial client? What is a digital multi-set? Natalia Spychała, director of animated films and forms, will talk about these and other issues.
NATALIA SPYCHAŁA - graduate of the Lodz Film School, director and animator. In addition to making short animated films, she explores stop-motion and digital techniques, co-creating artistic and commercial projects. Since 2020, she has been running an on Line animation studio, where, together with a team of freelancers, she works on commissioned projects by companies, NGOs and animation producers. In her spare time, she conducts workshops for young people and children at risk of social exclusion.
MASTERCLASS WITH ANNA BŁASZCZYK: FROM BOOK TO FILM 24.06 / 16:00, University of Arts in Poznań
The masterclass will be devoted to the process of creating a full-length animated film for the youngest viewer based on the production of "Przytul Mnie. Poszukiwacze Miodu".
ANNA BŁASZCZYK - director, animator, screenwriter, illustrator. A graduate of the Lodz Film School, majoring in Animated Film and Special Effects. She made her debut with the film "Caracas" (2006). A graduate of the European Animation Masterclass in Halle (Germany). Participant of several editions of the European Exchange Forum - Perspectives for Animated Film in Dresden. As part of the DAAD scholarship, she directed her next animated film "Return" in Berlin in co-production with the Konrad Wolf Film School in Potsdam. She is the author of the visualization for the OPEN'ER festival and the music video promoting the song of Kora & 5th Element - "Szare Mirage", nominated for the YACH award. Director of several educational animated series (e.g. "Moni i Uszko", "Baranek Loco"). Author of the short film "Trzej Królowie". Among the festival awards, there is a distinction for artistry and directing in the category of film debuts at the International Animated Film Festival BIMINI in Riga, the award for the best debut at the Balcanima Film Festival in Belgrade, the Jury's distinction at FilmFest in Dresden and O!PLA - 1st Prize "Golden Bundle of Matołek the Billy Goat" in the music video category. In addition to animation, she also deals with book and press illustrations - she has published her works, e.g. in the weekly WPROST, the magazine "Lampa" and the Gdańsk Psychological Publishing House. Her works have been exhibited in Poland and abroad (the series "Baśnie Braci Grimm"- Bologna Book Fiere in Bologna, individual exhibition in "Mała Litera" in Łódź, Cityuations - Consumed Society in Berlin). Author of illustrations for a graphic story about the life and work of Maria Curie Skłodowska - original title "Et lys i mørket" (so far published in Denmark, Germany, Poland, USA, Armenia). Leading director in the animated series "Przytul Mnie", one of the directors of the "Kicia Kocia" series. Director of the feature film "Przytul Mnie. Poszukiwacze Miodu".

This two-day industry event is intended for students and professionals of the animation industry. The theme of the first day is "Animation is everywhere" and it will have the form of short presentations by practitioners specializing in film animation, as well as special effects and games.
On the first day of ANIMATOR PRO, 24, June at 10, as part of the "Breakfast with the Lodz Film School" you will be able to meet our graduate, Marcin Podolec. At 11 a.m., as part of "10 short presentations of practitioners specializing in film animation as well as special effects and games", the Visual Narrative Laboratory vnLab operating at the School will have its presentation - the participants of the event will get to know the S3D Studio. vnLab
On the second day of ANIMATOR PRO, 25, June, as part of the industry workshop, the School will be represented by our lecturer, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz.
