One of the most outstanding creators of Polish cinema. Director, screenwriter, writer and lecturer. Our school graduate passed away at the age of 92.

Janusz Majewski graduated from the Directing Department of the State Higher School of Theatre and Film in Łódź in 1960. In the years 1969–1991 he lectured at our School and was the artistic supervisor of many student films.

The most important works of the outstanding director and screenwriter include: THE CRIMINAL WHO STOLE A CRIME (1969), JEALOUSY AND MEDICINE (1973), HOTEL PACIFIC (1975), THE GORGON CASE (1977), LESSON OF A DEAD LANGUAGE (1979), and H.M. DESERTERS (1985).

Winner of the Platinum Lions Lifetime Achievement Award at the 41st Gdynia Film Festival (2016), the Polish Filmmakers Association Award for outstanding artistic achievements and contribution to the development of Polish cinema, and the EAGLE Polish Film Award for Lifetime Achievements. Long-time president of the Polish Filmmakers Association.

We say goodbye to an outstanding Man of Cinema.
His passing brings us great sadness.
