On 13 and 14, May, the Faculty of Film Art Organization invites you to the conference "Production studies of Central and Eastern Europe", which will be held at our School.

The Department of Film Art Organization of the Lodz Film School invites you to the international scientific conference "Production Studies of Central and Eastern Europe". The conference, supported by the Polish Filmmakers Association, will be held on May 13-14, 2024 at the New Media Centre at the Film School in Łódź, 61/63, Targowa Street.

For two decades, a research trend in the field of production culture and the film market has been developing in the film literature of Central and Eastern Europe. Researchers, mainly from the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, work in teams on issues relating to the past and present of audiovisual markets from a comparative perspective. The conference will be an opportunity to summarize the current achievements of the trend and outline plans for the next decade of joint activities. One of the ideas for the near future is to create an academic research network, bringing together scientists from about 10 academic centres who have been cooperating with each other for a decade. The conference will be attended by researchers from PWSFTviT in Łódź, the University of Łódź, the Jagiellonian University, the University of Gdańsk, SWPS University, Adam Mickiewicz University, Charles University in Prague, FAMU and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest.

The substantive aim of the international conference is to outline a dynamic and multi-faceted picture of the film industry in Central and Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on changes in the post-pandemic conditions and rapid technological progress.
