The acting students’ graduation film directed by Aniela Gabryel won the Main Prize at the Film Debut Festival in Switzerland.
The DEBUT22 festival took place in Klosters, Switzerland from September, 5-8.
Double joy, as it was a double debut – both for the acting students and the director. Behind the camera there was Aniela Gabryel, a graduate of film and TV directing, who directed the 6th fiction diploma film of our acting students from the 2020 class.
The film DIFFERENT PATHS TO HOLINESS had its premiere at the 42nd Koszalin Film Debut Festival YOUNG AND FILM, and was also presented at Porto Femme in Portugal and the Madrid Indie Film Festival in Spain.
The jury statement reads: The jury was impressed by the film’s visual power, outstanding direction, and a surprisingly assured handling of a large ensemble of talented young actors for a debut work. Different Paths to Holiness is a pulsating, vibrant portrait of a contemporary generation searching for meaning. The film manages, entirely without moralizing, to make various attitudes and worldviews tangible. The human connection to the unexpectedly conceived and quite controversial characters makes their individual life struggles understandable on a psychological level as well. Despite the complex, episodic structure, the director consistently maintains her artistic compass.The jury sees immense potential in this debut work and is already looking forward to follow the director’s development in the coming years.
