The Cinematography Department is working on a project entitled "The Faces and Social Consequences of World War II in the Perspective of the Photographic Sources of Polish Culture".
The project is financed from the state budget allocated by the Minister of Education and Science under the "Science for Society II" Programme.

The aim of the project is to conduct archival research and popularize (both among a wide audience and within the international research community) the Polish national photographic heritage illustrating: 1) the war destruction that Poland suffered during World War II; 2) the realities and functioning of the Polish community confronting the process of reconstruction and coming to terms with the past during the Cold War (with particular emphasis on the years 1945-1969).
