It is a huge success woven from other equally important achievements of the filmmakers. Let us note that the film:
* premiered in the Main Competition of this year's Cannes IFF;
* is the Danish entry for the Oscar in the category of Best International Feature Film
* was awarded the Silver Lions at the 49th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia (and other individual awards).

Film synopsis:
Karoline, a young factory worker, tries to survive in Copenhagen just after World War I. When she becomes pregnant, loses her job and is left to her own devices, she meets Dagmar - the charismatic owner of an illegal adoption agency which helps mothers find new homes for their unwanted children. Having no alternative, Karoline takes a job with Dagmar as a wet nurse. The women establish a bond, but Karoline's world falls apart when she discovers the shocking truth about her employer.
THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE by Magnus von Horn is a disturbing story based on facts about a woman searching for love and a sense of morality.
