The film directed by our graduate and lecturer, MAGNUS VON HORN, with a chance for a prestigious statuette in the category of Best International Feature Film. Congratulations and fingers crossed!

The nominations for this year's Academy Awards have been announced. Congratulations to our graduates and faculty, creators and producers of the film THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE. The film has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Feature Film Category.

THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE is the latest film by Magnus von Horn, our graduate and current lecturer at the Directing Department. The film's producer is a graduate of film production and our lecturer - Mariusz Włodarski from Lava Films, the production manager is a graduate of the Film Art Organization Department - Luiza Skrzek, the cinematographer a graduate of the Cinematography Department - Michał Dymek. The film was edited by a graduate of the Editing Department - Agnieszka Glińska, and the film’s script consultant was our lecturer at the Directing Department - Andrzej Mellin.

Magnus von Horn's film is competing for the statuette as Denmark's entry with the films: "Emilia Pérez" (France), "The Seed of the Sacred Fig" (Germany), "Flow" (Latvia) and "I'm Still Here" (Brazil).

THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE

Film synopsis: Karoline, a young factory worker, tries to survive in Copenhagen just after World War I. When she becomes pregnant, loses her job and is left to her own devices, she meets Dagmar - the charismatic owner of an illegal adoption agency which helps mothers find new homes for their unwanted children. Having no alternative, Karoline takes a job with Dagmar as a wet nurse. The women establish a bond, but Karoline's world falls apart when she discovers the shocking truth about her employer.
