THE CLOWNS
Film synopsis: Łukasz and Julka and Olo and Alicja are two friendly couples who are just finishing their acting studies. They dream of great roles and a quick path to the top. When they learn that their graduation film will be directed by the famous director Gajda, they decide to take advantage of the opportunity. The director has to choose two people for the main roles from the entire class. A classic "rat race" begins among the students. While improvising scenes for the film based on the themes of jealousy, lies, manipulation and betrayal, Łukasz is paired with Olo, and Julka with Alicja. The young actors slowly begin to perceive their partners as a threat. Tensions grow, revealing ambitions, complexes and unsettled matters. The line between fiction and reality blurs, and the graduation film becomes a scene of envy and desperate rivalry. Will friendship survive? Or will fame prove more important?

In addition, on Thursday, 27, March, the premiere of the latest publication will take place: "How to write a radio play? A study for authors of audio scripts" by Magdalena Wleklik, our doctoral student at the PWSFTviT Doctoral School. The book was published by the Film School Publishing House, which will have a stand at the Script Fiesta Festival premises where the book will be on sale. You will also be able to talk to the author on Friday (28.03) from 12:00 to 14:00.

"The art of storytelling develops with the progress of civilization. The last few generations were raised on radio broadcasts and consider it natural to transport themselves with their imagination into the world of audio plays. (...) Streaming media had a chance to eliminate the need to receive audio stories; however, this did not happen. There is a kind of renaissance of this type of production, as evidenced by the growing popularity of audioteka.pl, with which the Lodz Film School Publishing House cooperated on the publication of this book. The publication was prepared primarily from the perspective of authors and screenwriters who have linked their artistic lives with audio productions. Its aim is to collect and systematize experiences and to provide specific methods for writing a script for a radio play".

MAGDALENA WLEKLIK
Screenwriter, director. Author of radio plays produced by Audioteka, Polish Radio Theatre, Radio Szczecin and Radio Białystok: Mosty, Agent wolności, Anna Karenina, Mam plan, Matysiakowie, Konsul, Beksa, Czarne nie są złe and others. Winner of script competitions, including: Audioteka, Script Wars, Wyobraź Sobie. Resident of the Forum for Dialogue of Cultures at Villa Decius as part of the Polish-German scholarship programme. Graduate of the PWSFTviT in Łódź. Co-creator of the Film Script Library operating under its auspices.
