Filip Jakubowski's student film "transl. it's okay to be quiet" & the animated film "DEAR LEO SOKOLOSKY" by our graduate Weronika Szyma, will premiere internationally at the Oberhausen Short Film Fest

ISFF in Oberhausen is an international festival presenting various forms and latest trends in short film. The films selected each year constitute a kind of artistic manifesto of emerging filmmakers who want to show and talk about their art. Therefore, constructive debates on the aesthetics, position and prospects of the latest short films are a permanent element accompanying the screenings.

"We demand a fully open meaning of art for the sake of critical understanding of the world", declare the festival organizers.

The 71st edition of the festival will take place from 29, April to 4, May.

During this year's edition, two Polish films will be presented in the international competition:

* „transl. it’s okay to be quiet”
fiction student film (experimental)

Synopsis: My mother likes to write her thoughts on tiles in the kitchen. One of them says: “1 nanosecond = 30 centimeters, about 30 cm. Imagining how fast light travels calms me down.” The director’s mother, who is losing her sight, visits her son and his girlfriend. Seeking solace by the sea, they find peace in untamed nature. They create a new, unspoken language, turning their last moments into a farewell to light.
