The director, graduate and lecturer of our school has passed away at the age of 73.
It is with great sadness that we received the news of the death of Sławomir Kryński, director, graduate and lecturer of our school.
Sławomir Kryński was born on 23, March,1952 in Łódź. He graduated from the Directing Department in 1983. He was an assistant to Wojciech Jerzy Has, then worked as an independent lecturer at our school, and an artistic supervisor for dozens of student films. He made his debut in 1985 with the film ŻAGLOWIEC (Sailing Ship), his full-length feature debut was the film DZIECKO SZCZĘŚCIA (Child of Hapiness) (1991), awarded the Silver Grape during the Lubuskie Film Summer. In 1997, he made the film KSIĘGA WIELKICH ŻYCZEŃ (The Book of Great Wishes) with the participation of Gustaw Holoubek, Danuta Szaflarska and Henryk Machalica. For this film, he received awards in Cairo, Cabourg, Łagów and Słupca. He also directed comedies and plays for television theatre.
In 2016, he was awarded the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis, in 2018 – the Bronze Cross of Merit.
