Sławomir Kalwinek, vice-dean of Film Direction Dept. created an interactive film (webdoc) about Lodz children who talk about their friends, the courtyards where they play & about their families.
The project has been carried out as Rossmann Film Academy within the frame of the Lodz Four Cultures Festival.
- A series of workshops for children who come from socially underprivilidged families living in certain areas of the Lodz centre has been called Rossmann Film Academy. The project combines social activity with art. At first we spent a lot of time talking to the kids and their parents to convince them to the idea. Having collected all required permissions we involved a few street workers from the foundation „Dragging kids out of the Courtyards” in the project. The street workers helped us familiarize the kids with the idea of speaking to the camera about their life and emotions in a natural way. – says Sławek Kalwinek, who was assisted in carrying out the project by Marcin Ściegliński, a cameraman.
